20 years of Republican party rule in our state has created a Georgia economy that puts working people last. In the Senate, Duro will legislate on day one to deliver immediate relief to residents of Henry and Clayton counties.

Duro believes that medical decisions should be left up to individuals and their medical providers. When Republicans forced through the six week abortion ban, they trampled on the rights of every woman in Georgia. In the Senate, Duro will fight to restore this basic health right.

In Duro’s mind, in the best state to do business, there is no reason why a child should go hungry. That's why he wants to make school lunch free in public schools. Coupled with expanding the take home food programs, this would ensure that no child, regardless of income, will ever have to be hungry.

There is no reason that a broken leg should bankrupt a family. Every year your federal taxes are being used to pay for healthcare of people in other states because Georgia’s elected leaders don’t believe you deserve affordable healthcare. The governor could expand Medicaid for 300,000 Georgians right now, but he doesn't want to. Duro won't stop fighting until every eligible Georgian is covered.

I-75 is notorious for bumper-to-bumper traffic, but the traffic problem extends out into Henry County and beyond. In Henry County, growth-oriented transportation infrastructure is needed to reduce the time spent in traffic. In the Senate, Duro will be Henry and Clayton’s biggest transit advocate.

As a proud product of Henry County Schools, Duro stands with Students, Parents, and Educators, to improve educational outcomes. Duro understands that Henry and Clayton county schools need well paid teachers to prepare our students for excellent colleges and careers and lead our state, country and world.

Data doesn’t lie, states that have thriving unions, have happier, and better paid employees than states that don't. That's why Duro stands with unions, and supports the right for collective bargaining. Duro won’t undercut the workers of Henry and Clayton counties by outsourcing jobs, but instead will focus on building strong, pro-worker jobs right here in Georgia.

In Genesis 1:26 God places humanity as caretakers of earth; stewards of birds, fish, animals and the land we all share. Our Republican state leaders have been doing a bad job. The south metro has turned into Atlanta's dumping ground with chemical runoff in our water, and factory burnoff in our air. Duro will stand up and fight for clean drinking water, clean air, and an un-polluted environment.

For too long our state leaders have provided lip service to our first responders and have not backed their pledges up with funding. Duro will fight to fund our Fire Fighters, Police Officers and Sheriff Department. Duro also knows the way to stop crime is to address the root problems, that's why Duro will support funding for community programs that address mental health and limit recidivism.
